Happy Fall!

Fall is officially here and we are shipping!

Dear Hydrangeas Enthusiasts,

Welcome

Whew!  Just wrapped up a few great weeks of fall shipping after a hot hot summer here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon.  Cooler weather is finally here (I hope!) and even a smidge of rain last week. Lots of color changes here at the nursery. We hope you will visit the website and order some gems for fall shipping.

We still need some rain but the fall show that Mother Nature is putting on is wonderful.  We hope you're experiencing the same or will soon.

What’s happening at Hydrangeas Plus

Hydrangeas are coming back into stock.  I just have a few that I'm waiting for (not so patiently I may add) but some may not be ready until spring. If you are waiting for something, you may join the waiting list by clicking on the plant and size then clicking ‘Notify me when available’ button. You’ll receive an email when it is back in stock. Remember that some of the plants are only available in certain sizes.

Our next ship date is the week of September 29th.

New Plants 2026 (some ready now)

We have some new plants on the website!  Look at this one! We found it somewhere I can’t remember and finally have enough to offer and got a great picture. It is called Shibori Ezo and the striping on the petal is so unique. It looks like someone splashed paint on each flower. Serratas are known the fall color, can’t wait to see it!  Check out our other offerings in the New To 2026 category on the website.

Cherry Go Round - aged bloom

Last open dates this weekend

Our Cascade Nursery Trail event will be the 27th and 28th (but we’ll be around on the 26th as well. Hours for this last weekend in September will be 10am to 4pm.  Take a tour of the country and find some fall treasures for your garden.

The Cascade Nursery Trail is an alliance of eight family-owned, specialty nurseries that hold events together. Some are at a central location but most are held at our places of business. Learn more about the trail on our website, we hope to see you locals out this weekend.

We will be open by appointment as well if you are look for something in particular.  PLEASE feel free to email me and come pickup - even if it says it is out of stock.  Many of these plants are too large to ship or I just don’t have many left.  Please email me at [email protected].

Fall Planting

Fall is a great time to plant for many areas. Mother Nature's cooling temperatures make transplanting a cinch. Warm soil temperatures keep the roots growing and there are better chances of rain. Don't miss the opportunity to get some hydrangeas in the ground.  My rule of thumb for fall planting is that the plant must have enough time in the ground to get the roots established before your first solid freeze.  A layer of mulch after leaf drop can help the roots stay warm and continue to grow.  Email me with your zip code and I can give you an idea if fall planting is for you.
